Secure Storage of Selma has expanded its facility and also added new upgrades.

“We have seen the need for the additional storage these last couple of years,” said Richard Brassfield, co-owner of Secure Storage. “The economy has grown in the Selma and Kingsburg area. It’s just the need for those additional units.”

The expansion will add more than 170 new units to the facility, bringing the number up from 730 to 900. Brassfield noted that the project has been in the making for a year and half, and comes after the addition of RV storage two years ago.

Along with the new units, Secure Storage will also be incorporating drought tolerant landscaping, solar systems, decorative water features and LED lighting for environmental purposes. Co-owner Susan Brassfield said that not just new customers, but loyal old customers, have met the project with enthusiasm.

“We have many returning customers as well,” she said. “So that said, many of the people that are returning are looking forward to moving back into the storage of our facility again.
