The Selma Police Department is asking the public for information related to a suspected illegal gambling operation discovered at a local business.
On Thursday Selma police, along with the California Department of Justice, investigated allegations of illegal gambling at a business called Maria’s Internet Cafe, located in the 2400 block of McCall Avenue.

Investigators said they found evidence corroborating the allegations and shut the business down. They also seized an undisclosed amount of money as well as “large gaming devices,” other electronic devices and computers, according to a Selma Police Department Facebook post.

The Selma Police Department has not responded to a request for more information about the case.

The investigation of the business is ongoing and no charges have been filed. The Selma Police Department is asking anyone who has information about the business to contact Detective Cassy Fain at 559-896-2525.
