Save Mart Supermarkets is teaming up with Valley Children’s Healthcare on a fundraising initiative that netted the hospital $23,000 last year.

From April 17-30, shoppers at 44 Save Mart stores from Sonora to Porterville can choose to donate $2, $3 or $5 at checkout to be added to their grocery bill.

“The Save Mart Companies has been investigating heavily in children’s health programs for years. We’re happy to partner with such a renowned facility to ensure our kids in the valley continue to have access to vital care,” said Randy Sientz, general manager for Save Mart, in a statement.

To date, Save Mart shoppers have donated more than $866,000 through this annual fundraising campaign.

“We are so grateful to Save Mart Supermarkets for their ongoing support,” said Rob Saroyan, Valley Children’s Vice president for philanthropy, in a statement. “We look forward to another successful campaign in support of Valley Children’s Healthcare.”
