A Sanger elementary school is launching a massive capital effort to raise funds for a new complex.

The school, Fairmont Elementary, hopes its “Grow the Legacy” campaign will raise $5 million in the next five years to build a state-of-the-art Fairmont Ag Complex.

Fairmont Farm began last year as a small, on-campus learning farm focused on plant and animal science. Community and corporate enthusiasm and interest, however, has motivated a deliberate expansion to develop a three-phase master planned facility to include a plant science workshop, an animal science barn and a water, energy and technology (WET) lab, innovation lab and outdoor makerspace.

Two acres of land immediately adjacent to Fairmont Elementary would be used for the project. In order to raise the funds, “Grow the Legacy” will be reaching out to major corporate donors.
