After 38 years in business, a Southeast Fresno deli is closing its doors.

Owners of Sunnyside Delicatessen posted on Facebook Monday that they would be “leaving on their own terms” — and not as a casualty of Covid-19.

“They say that all good things must come to an end and we have decided that that time has come for us,” the post read.

A voice message reached at the store phone line Tuesday said that the shop was closed for good.

Located at 5691 E. Kings Canyon Rd., Sunnyside Delicatassen was run by owner Greg Riley, according to filings with the California Secretary of State.

The owners did not immediately respond to messages requesting comment.

Facebook followers reacting to the news raved about the great food and customer service at the deli.
