Ray Starling, special assistant to President Donald Trump on agriculture and agricultural trade and food assistance, will be the keynote speaker at Thursday’s Citrus Showcase.

The annual event, put on by Exeter-based California Citrus Mutual, an advocacy group for citrus growers, will be held at the Visalia Convention Center.

Workshops will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Starling scheduled to speak during lunch.

He’s expected to discuss the Trump administration’s position on matters affecting the citrus industry and California agriculture, including foreign trade, the fate of guest worker legislation, the US Department of Agriculture budget and Farm Bill programs that include crop insurance, states a press release from Citrus Mutual.

Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased for $40 by calling 592-3790. Get more information online at cacitrusmutual.com.
