EDUCATION

State Center Community College District has promoted Cherylyn Crill-Hornsby to director of grants and external funding.

NONPROFITS

The Fresno State Women’s Association presented four scholarships and three Leadership Awards at its annual fall coffee meeting Oct. 1 at the university. Scholarships of $1,000 each were presented to students Jacqueline Burke, Alice Guhl, Sherrianna Scott and Jennifer Cushing. Leadership recognition went to faculty member Joy Goto, a chemistry professor, and staff members Shirley Melikian Armbruster, associate vice president for University Communications and MaiKou Vang, supplemental instruction coordinator of the Learning Center.

BANKING

Gina Peragine has been hired as senior vice president, loan servicing manager to the credit administration department of Central Valley Community Bank. Peragine brings more than 40 years of experience in community banking, loan management, and bank operations to CVCB. She is responsible for managing all activities in the Loan Servicing department including training, development, compliance, and overall performance management. SMALL BUSINESS

The Tulare Chamber of Commerce announced the appointment of Donnette Silva Carter as the organization’s new president and CEO.  She was formerly the executive of the Porterville Chamber of Commerce, and also served as CEO of the San Benito County Fair.

Tate Hill, president and CEO of the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, has stepped down from his position after seven years, and taking another job with the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission. T’Shaka Toure is the interim CEO as the search for a new executive commences.
