Have municipal management experience, will travel.

That’s the motto of Ron Manfredi, who later this month will take over interim city manager duties in the City of Parlier after the recently announced resignation of current City Manager Israel Lara effective March 15.

Manfredi retired from the City of Kermen in 2012 after nearly 19 years as city manager, and has worked as a consultant for various local cities and businesses providing municipal services. In 2013 he served as interim city manager for the City of Firebaugh, helping the western Fresno County town eliminate a $1.2 million general fund deficit.

Manfredi will assist the Parlier City Council in selecting a permanent city manager — a process that could take months, according to a news release. The council will also look toward Manfredi to immediately find a new finance director to help with the development of the city budget for the new fiscal year, which starts in July.
