Adventist Health is set to outsource major services of the Roseville-based health care network, but according to the company, affected employees can still expect to retain employment with the new companies — including those in the Central Valley.

According to a written statement provided by Adventist Health, the changes will begin on March 8. The outsourcing will result in: Security work being transferred to Allied Universal Security Services, a company based out of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania; environmental services will be handled by Sodexo Group, a company from France; and facility services to JLL in Chicago.

This change will affect 770 associates throughout the entire system, which consists of more than 20 hospitals.

In the local network, the jobs affected include 152 in Hanford, 44 in Reedley and 45 in Tulare.

However, these layoffs will result in the transfer — not the termination — of employment. Hospital officials said those employees would be rehired by the contracted company and continue in their positions.

“This transition is the result of our commitment to being good stewards of our mission and values,” the network said. “Impacted associates who work in these services will not lose their jobs and their employment will remain in the local community.”

Gabriela Ornelas, communications manager for Adventist Health Reedley/Selma, this is not expected to have an adverse affect on their wages.
