Arte Américas will host a dedication on Thursday for Downtown Fresno’s newest mural recently completed on the historic Fresno Bee building.

The event, beginning at the 10 a.m., will feature live music and a program that includes an introduction and acknowledgment of muralists Francisco Letelier and Mauro Carrera. Fowler native Juan Felipe Herrera, who just wrapped up his post as U.S. Poet Laureate, is also scheduled to attend as a special guest.

The event will also announce a project to sell tiles to run along the base of the mural site at 1555 Van Ness Avenue as a fundraiser to pay for more murals in the Mural District.

A small reception at Arte Américas will follow from 11 a.m. to noon.
