The Downtown Fresno Foundation has rolled out a new grant program for existing downtown businesses.

The grant is meant to help businesses in Downtown Fresno cover normal operating expenses including interior/exterior renovation, expansion, online marketing, rent, utilities, payroll and more. The owners of businesses established downtown for more than a year can request $500 to $3,000.

The deadline to apply is June 12 with recipients announced July 1. The funds must be used within six months or by Dec. 31.

The grant program is available through a partnership with Central Valley Community Foundation and Wells Fargo. It is modeled in part after the Create Here grant, the Downtown Fresno Foundation’s annual business plan contest.

Applications can be found online at downtownfresno.org or at the office at 845 Fulton St.
