Priscilla Banuelos, a wedding photographer on the weekends, is embarking on another entrepreneurial endeavor with her new photography studio in Fresno.

The Collective Photo Studio is a place to empower the creative, she said.

Getting it off the ground has taken five months. It started with the search for the perfect space — high ceilings and good natural light. The studio is tucked away in a business park near Blackstone and Bullard avenues at 90 E. Escalon Ave., Ste. 122.

The studios feature various configurations that can be adjusted by clients.

Banuelos rented and renovated the office space, adding fresh coats of paint, new flooring and set designs. She says it’s a place for the community to use for business or for fun.

Banuelos created several studio spaces with varying lighting and props. The Collective Photo Studio is meant for businesses, marketing agencies and creatives alike to come take photos of their team members, campaigns and products. While three rooms are available for use now, she hopes to have the final room, a bedroom set, fully renovated by the fall. She also dreams of operating a podcast studio out of the office space.

One of the studios is set up for product shots.

“I want people to come and be creative,” Banuelos said.

The set up includes a green room for professional portraits and editorial work, product room to capture product photos and a natural light warehouse with props available to use. The Collective Photo Studio offers an annual membership for $100 a year, but clients can also pay per hour to use the rooms. The fees go toward in-house gear, including flashes, props and studio equipment.

Clients can change the set ups too, a feature not commonly found in other studios she has used in the past.

She says that’s what sets Collective apart.

“You don’t need to be a photographer to book this space,” Banuelos said. “This is just a space for anybody.”
