Are you ready for some football — on the big screen?

The Platinum Theatres Dinuba 6 movie house announced this weekend it will show NFL Thursday Night Football this week.

The special presentation starts this Thursday with a matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.

Admission is free with a $10-per-person concession purchase, according to a Facebook post announcing the special event. The theater will also have a Thirsty Thursday promotion, with alcoholic drinks including beer and wine for $5 each.

Messages left for Platinum Theatres were not returned Monday morning.

The theater is located at 250 S. M St. in Dinuba. Built in 2003, it features six screens with a total of 800 seats. Albert Frank Guerra of Hollister is listed as president and CEO of the company, according to paperwork filed with the state.

Platinum Theatres Dinuba 6 appears to be the only local movie theater to show NFL games on the big screen.

With the closure of UA Broadway Faire movie theater in Clovis reported by The Business Journal last week, movie theaters are struggling to recover from pandemic closures and a long-running decline in cinema goers.

Starting in 2019, AMC Entertainment Group announced a partnership with the NFL to show select football games on the big screen.
