Riley’s Brewing, Tactical Ops Brewing and Mad Duck Craft Brewing Co. were the big winners of the Old Town Clovis Craft Beer Crawl last weekend.

Hosted at various Old Town Clovis businesses on March 10, the beer crawl included more than a dozen local and out-of-the-area breweries, including House of Pendragon, Full Circle, Tioga Sequoia, Firestone Walker of Paso Robles, Drake’s Brewing of San Leandro and Temblor Brewing of Bakersfield.

The event draws upward of 1,200 beer tasters to Old Town Clovis who are able to vote for their favorite beer. Riley’s Brewing took the gold award, followed by silver for Tactical Ops and bronze for Mad Duck, said Carole Lester, executive director of The Business Organization of Old Town, which hosts the event.

The people’s vote favored local breweries. Riley’s is based in Madera, Tactical Ops in Clovis and Mad Duck in Fresno.

Guardians of the Ribbon, Fresno County Chapter, also known as the “Pink Heals,” was the nonprofit benefactor of the event. The organization arranges for pink fire trucks, police cars and CHP motorcycles to make appearances across the country to help raise awareness in the fight against life-threatening diseases.

The Old Town Clovis Craft Beer Crawl began as a twice-yearly event in 2015. Starting last year it went to once a year.
