The San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance (SJVMA) and the Fresno Business Council (FBC) are preparing to open the doors for the 6th annual “Valley Made” Manufacturing Summit taking place this Thursday.

It will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Fresno Convention Center Exhibit Hall. It returns as an in-person event after going digital last year due to the pandemic.

The “Valley Made” Manufacturing Summit serves as a workshop and resource expo celebrating the Central Valley’s history of innovation in manufacturing while providing resources and networking opportunities to build a well-trained work force.

The keynote speaker for this year’s summit is Electronic Recyclers International (ERI) Chairman and CEO John Shegerian. In the keynote speech, “C.A.R.E. — Culture Affects Retention + Earnings,” Shegerian will delve into how a work culture can impact a business’s employee retention, recruitment and training and how company culture can affect business earnings.

The day is also full of breakout sessions with topics including “How to Protect Your Company from Ransomware,” “Successful Hiring & Retention 2.0,” Building Your Employee Bench While Reducing Hiring Costs,” and “How to Avoid a PAGA Lawsuit? New Trends in CA Wage & Hour Litigation and Common Wage & Hour Mistakes by Employers.”

Cost to attend the summit is $150 and student tickets are available starting at $25.

More than 600 manufacturing industry leaders including CEOs, technology management, human resources directors, industry service providers and Career Technology Education partners are expected to attend.
