Just a couple of weeks after announcing a major menu change, Downtown Fresno eatery HoP PK has announced it is closing its doors for good.

Like the previous announcement on Sept. 24, letting customers know the collaboration between House of Pendragon Brewing Co. and Pita Kabob & Grill had dissolved, Friday’s closure announcement was made via Facebook.

“…We have determined that remaining open is not a viable possibility for future success,” according to the Facebook post. “We appreciate everyone who came to support us on this venture.”

No further explanation for the closure was offered in the post. A message left for House of Pendragon was not immediately returned.

HoP PK opened at 820 Van Ness Ave. in 2017 as a partnership between Chafic Dada of Visalia-based Pita Kabob and Tommy Caprelian from Sanger’s House of Pendragon. In 2015, their brewpub business proposal won the Downtown Fresno Partnership’s Create Here contest.

At the end of September, HoP PK announced the menu would shift from Mediterranean food to standard pub fare as the two entities parted ways.

Friday’s post stated that both Pita Kabob’s and House of Pendragon’s existing independent locations will remain open.
