Across the nation, home prices are coming down, with California the second most-affected state.

The average home price has dropped 1.55% in the Golden State since June, or about $12,205 in losses from the average $775,876 price, according to Quotewizard.com, using Zillow data.

Utah experienced the biggest drop, with a 1.73% decline on the median home price, averaging $9,917 in losses.

California had four cities in the top ten having the biggest dips in home prices.

San Jose led the country with an average 5.6% decline in prices, dropping $93,037 to $1.56 million. San Francisco took the No. 4 spot with a 2.9% retreat, dropping $42,144 to $1.42 million.

San Diego ranked No. 6, dropping 2.4%, losing $22,286 to $893,508.

Los Angeles rounded out the list, losing 1.8% in home values. The average home price in Los Angeles is now $914,636, $17,071 lower than in June.

Home prices in the Central Valley have appeared to plateau, according to Zillow.com. Home prices in Visalia have begun to turn around from record increases. In August, the median home price was $370,823, down from $373,166 in June.

The median home price was $375,919 in August, compared to $373,910 in June. Year-over-year, Fresno home prices are up 13.4%.
