A new pool hall is in the “cue” to reopen in a space formerly occupied by a storied Fresno business.

Sierra Billiards at 6460 N. Blackstone Ave is slated to open soon in the former Diamond Billiards location off Sierra Avenue near Bowlero.

Diamond Billiards closed in November 2021 after the lease was terminated for nonpayment of rent when the business was forced to shut down during the pandemic.

Dan Dadian opened the first Diamond Billiards in Fresno in the ‘70s near Shields and Chestnut avenues. Dadian and his wife Sherri went on to open a few more pool halls, including the Blackstone location that debuted in 2004.

Blackstone was the last Diamond Billiards location to close.

A conditional use permit was filed with the City of Fresno by Gurjeevan Singh Gill of Sierra Billiards, Inc., with a request for a Type 42 alcohol license to sell beer and wine from noon to 1:30 am.

Talwinder Singh, the registered agent on file for Sierra Billiards, Inc., said that the pool hall should be open by November or December.
