One of the Valley’s oldest and largest credit unions has a new name Monday that officials say better reflects its core mission of serving members.

Noble Credit Union is the new name for Fresno County Federal Credit Union, which was founded in 1941 and has about 83,000 members.

In a letter to members and partners, Susan Ryan, credit union president and CEO, said the new name — while also being less of a mouthful — represents a commitment to members, “the true owners of the credit union.”

The credit union also has a new motto.

“Our new branding statement, ‘Where you’re worth more’ also reflects our commitment to you,” Ryan said.

The full transition is expected to be complete by the end of the year, with the first changes taking place inside branches, online and in advertisements.

The credit union has five branches in Fresno, one in Clovis and one each in Madera and Selma.

Members’ debit, credit and ATM cards will continue to work, through they should expect new Noble Credit Union cards over the next 12 months.

Officials with the credit union said it will be celebrating all month long, with activities and giveaways at all branches.
