The Westlands Water District has announced the selection of its new public affairs representative.

Diana Giraldo, who served as a communications specialist for the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, has been selected for the position.

Giraldo will be replaces Gayle Holman, who served as the public affairs representative for Westlands for more than seven years. Holman is now working for Community Medical Centers as the public affairs project manager.

Giraldo’s duties will include responding to requests from the media, general public, and other water agencies, as well as coordinating tours of facilities and making presentations at tradeshows, schools and the general public.

“We’re glad to have Diana on the Westlands team,” said Johnny Amaral, deputy general manager of external affairs for Westlands. “The farmers and communities of Westlands Water District will be served well by her past experience and future efforts.”

Giraldo was raised in Modesto and is a graduate of Fresno State.
