The Fresno Chamber Political Action Committee has announced another slate of endorsements for upcoming local elections.

In its latest round of endorsements, the Fresno Chamber PAC named its support for three candidates for the Fresno City Council race.

The PAC endorsed Annalisa Perea for Fresno City Council District 1, which includes areas such as the Tower District and Fresno High School.

Perea is currently a trustee for the State Center Community College District , and a city planner for Visalia-based engineering firm QK. She is the niece of Henry R. Perea, a former Fresno mayoral candidate and former Fresno County Board Supervisor.

Perea is running against former city council member and business-owner Mike Briggs, business-owner Cary Catalano and business-owner Jeremy M. Preis.

In the race for the District 5 seat of the Fresno City Council, the PAC is endorsing Luis Chavez for re-election. Chavez will be running against Sanger Unified School District board member Brandon Vang.

According to his campaign website, Vanger has served as a board member for the Sanger District for six years, and as board president for two years.

The PAC is endorsing Fresno City Council President Nelson Esparza for re-election as council-member for District 7, which covers areas of Central Fresno, including Fresno City College.

Esparza will be facing off against by Courtney Westfall, a youth ministry leader in Fresno, and against retired paralegal Jason Jesada Keomanee.

PAC has reviewed each candidate’s platform and is proud to endorse those candidates that are

committed to developing strategies that stimulate business and encourage economic

development in the City of Fresno and we believe candidate Annalisa Perea, and incumbents Luis Chavez and Nelson Esparza are the right people for the job,” Scott Miller, President & CEO, Fresno Chamber of Commerce.

The Fresno Chamber PAC previously announced its endorsements for locally-elected seats for U.S. House of Representatives, the California Assembly, Fresno County Sheriff and other seats ahead of the June 7 primary election.
