Downtown Fresno’s bustling Fulton Street appears to be getting a healthier lunch option this week.

With a Facebook tagline “delicious salads galore,” Fresh Bite will host a grand opening event Thursday at 11 a.m. at 938 Fulton St., in the former location of Casa de Tamales.

The location, part of the ground floor of the T.W. Patterson building, has been vacant since Casa de Tamales closed in February 2018.

Fresh Bite is billed as “BYOS — Build Your Own Salad” that will feature “only the freshest ingredients.’

Miguel Gamboa, T.W. Patterson building manager, is listed as the business owner for Fresh Bite in a zone clearance check filed with the City of Fresno’s development department dated last week. Tenants of the building will also receive 10% off of orders.

Messages seeking comment from Gamboa were not immediately returned Monday.

As opposed to the former Casa de Tamales, which served sangria and other adult beverages, Fresh Bite is classified as a restaurant without alcohol sales, according to the document. The hours of operation are listed as 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

It’s listed as selling “Californian style food” and has four employees.
