Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) celebrated the opening of the organization’s newest Community Health Center in Traver last week.

Assemblyman Devon Mathis, Tulare County Board Supervisor Steve Worthley, Anneka Sweeney, field representative for Congressman Devin Nunes, and Traver Joint School District Superintendent Steve Ramirez were among the local officials who attended a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.

The event also included guided tours of the new health center and live entertainment from students of Traver Elementary School’s band and folkloric dance team.

The health center actually opened to patients on December 9, 2015 and offers comprehensive family medicine and pediatric services.

“We are grateful for our community partners who came out to support Family HealthCare Network and our newest health center in Traver,” stated FHCN President and CEO Kerry Hydash. “The new health center provides unprecedented access to health care for local school children, families and for the entire community.”

Located at 4177 Avenue 368 on a parcel of Traver Elementary School land, FHCN’s newest site is a school-based health center. The 3,700-square-foot health center features six exam rooms for medical services and supports the organization’s team-based, patient-centered medical home model.

The Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Family HealthCare Network is a private nonprofit organization that operates 20 sites, 16 of which are federally qualified health centers located throughout Tulare and Kings Counties.
