Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) was recently reaccredited by the Joint Commission and found to be in compliance with national standard’s for health care quality and safety.

The Joint Commission’s findings were based off an on-site survey conducted in December 2015, during which a team of experts evaluated FHCN’s ambulatory care and Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH).

The programs were found to be in compliance with coordination of care, infection prevention and control, management of medications and patient-centered education and training and both received Gold Seals of Approval by The Joint Commission this month.

“We commend Family HealthCare Network for its efforts to become a quality improvement organization, and achieving this pinnacle demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and quality,” said Michael Kulczycki, executive director of the Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation program.

FHCN’s ambulatory care program has been accredited since 1997, and in 2013, the network became the first community health center in Tulare and Kings counties to receive the dual recognition for ambulatory and PCMH programs.

“Family HealthCare Network is proud to achieve re-accreditation from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” said Kerry Hydash, president and CEO of FHCN. “Staff from across the organization continue to work together to develop and implement approaches and strategies that improve care for their patients in our community.”

FHCN is a private nonprofit organization operating 16 federally qualified health centers throughout Tulare and Kings counties.
