“The Untold Story: Internment of Japanese Americans in Hawaii” screening

Sun, Oct 7th, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The United Japanese Christian Church will sponsor the second in its series of Japanese American Film and Culture at 1PM, Sunday, October 7, 2018, with a viewing and discussion of the film “The Untold Story: Internment of Japanese Americans in Hawaii.”

Carole Hayashino, former Director of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii and Executive Producer of the movie, will be at the screening of the documentary. She will give the background of the movie and then be available afterwards for questions. There will also be a participatory lesson (for those interested in doing so) for Tankobushi (Japanese Obon dance) and the Fresno/Clovis Ukulele group will perform.  We will be serving cookies, coffee, tea and water after the movie. The event will be free and open to the public with a free will donation for those that choose to do so.

To register for the event, please go to www.ujcclife.com, and clink the “events” link.
