The Fresno County Board of Supervisors announced that a special election on March 5, 2019 will be held to fill the District 2 supervisor seat vacated by Andreas Borgeas.

Borgeas tendered his resignation Monday to take his state Senate seat to replace the termed out Tom Berryhill in the 8th District.

The term of office for the District 2 supervisor seat is 2019-20.

The special election is expected to be consolidated with a City of Clovis municipal election.

District 2 is located in the northern central area of Fresno County and is primarily metropolitan, including the communities of Pinedale and Fig Garden.
