The Downtown Fresno Partnership has announced 14 local businesses that have won grants to spruce up their buildings — either with an improved facade or a mural.

A total of $6,000 in grants will support the creation of five different murals to be completed over the next few months by local artists. The individual grants awarded were in the $500 – $1,500 range. The mural winners are:

— Display Advertising
— Fresno Grizzlies
— Full Circle Brewing
— One Putt Broadcast
— Monaco Enterprises

Red Wave Tattoo sponsored the mural fund.

The Grizzlies will be working with artist Joshua Wigger for their mural, according to the Downtown Fresno Partnership. One Putt Broadcasting is working with Eric Olage. Display Advertising, Full Circle Brewery and Brewery District are working with their own muralists.

The Facade Improvement Program was aimed at business and property owners looking to make exterior repairs and changes to their buildings. The program offered matching grants for a total of $12,000, with awards ranging from $200 to $2,000.

The grants will support a total of $200,000 in downtown facade improvement work.

Facade grantees include:

— 701 Broadway Street
— Auto Pawn
— Bill Bruce Studio
— Fresno Shoe Repair
— Haron Jaguar Land Rover Volvo
— Los Panchos
— Proctor’s Building
— Thrift Demon
— Yarra Law

“The projects awarded will begin to appear over the next few months with the goal of increasing the curb appeal and beauty in the downtown area,” according to a Downtown Fresno Partnership news release.
