Those needing their caffeine fix in Downtown Fresno can rejoice after a coffeehouse replaced a vacancy left by another bean brewer.

Valparaiso Cafe & Roaster had their soft opening on Dec. 27, 2018, at 744 P St., near the Amtrak Train Station, according to a Facebook post by the business.

The space has been vacant since last November when 8th Notch Coffee & Gifts closed in the Warehouse Row development.

For its part, Valparaiso is no stranger to Downtown Fresno. The coffee shop was housed in the Bitwise South Stadium building before it closed in August 2018.

Owner Mario Vargas once worked at Cafe Corazon in Fresno before opening Valparaiso in 2016.

In addition to roasting beans, they also offer cappuccino, sweet vanilla latte and Cafe con Leche, a Spanish-style coffee.

Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, according to the Facebook page.

Representatives from Valparaiso Cafe were not immediately available for comment.
