Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is opening a new Fresno location Thursday.

The eatery, located at 5776 N. Blackstone Ave, near Bullard Avenue, is the third Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Fresno. The other two have recently opened up near Woodward Park and Herndon and Highway 99. There are also two locations in Clovis.

“Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is expanding rapidly throughout the nation and we are proud to continue serving the great people of California,” Roland Dickey, Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., said in a statement.

Franchise owner Bryan Roche said he is excited to open another Dickey’s in town.

“We are so excited to continue serving the residents of Fresno delicious, Texas-style barbecue,” Roche said in a statement.

Several grand opening events will take place at the newest Fresno restaurant over the next four weeks.

On Thirsty Thursdays, all guests will receive a free limited edition anniversary cup with Dickey’s new reusable travel lid and straw and the first 50 guests will receive a complementary taste of the Frito’s Pie Taco, a new limited time menu item.

On Philanthropy Fridays, guests who donate to Dickey’s charitable foundation, Barbecue, Boots and Badges, will receive a gift card as a thank you for their donation. Uniformed first responders also receive 50 percent off their meal.

Local musicians will perform on Singer/Songwriter Saturdays and on Sundays kids eat free with a $10 dine-in purchase per adult.

In addition to these specials, guests can enter to win free barbecue for a year. To be eligible, guests can use the hashtag #1FreeYearofBBQ on any social media page, order online or sign up for the Big Yellow Cup Club.
