The Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Service Center in Fresno will host special dance classes and a performance showcase at the California Arts Academy on Saturday.


The fundraiser event will benefit the nonprofit and feature a performance by Antoine Hunter, a deaf and hard-of-hearing professional dancer. Hunter is the founder and director of the Urban Jazz Dance Co. and winner of the 2011 National Bay Area People’s Dancer Choice Award. 

Dance classes for modern, jazz and ballet will begin at 4 p.m. and are open to all levels. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes early for the instructional portion of the program.

The free dance showcase will begin at 6:30 and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Service Center will also host a bake sale, with 100 percent of proceeds and donations going to the Fresno program.
