DAV Charities of Central California, Inc. has announced the grand opening of a new location in Fresno.

The grand opening, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, will include a flag ceremony presented by Clovis East ROTC at the new 5091 N. Fresno St. location. Customers at the store will receive a 35 percent discount throughout the weekend.

DAV Charities – which stands for disabled American veterans – directly supports several different programs that help veterans with disabilities better their physical, social and mental conditions. These supported programs include transportation programs, VA health care system, two department service officers, a winter sports clinic and a local DAV chapter.

DAV collects donations throughout the Central Valley. Accepted donations include clothing, vehicles, electronics, household goods, books and art. Those wishing to donate can schedule a home pick up by calling (559) 237-0273 or filling out the online form at www.davcharities.com. Drop-offs are also accepted at the new location or the original store at 701 Van Ness Ave.
