Local wine, craft beer and artisan pizza is on the agenda for a new business that is coming soon to Madera.

Navy veteran Dustin Franklin and his wife Traci are currently hiring up to 12 employees to run The Tap House, which will be located at 2175 N. Schnoor Street, Suite 101, in the Home Depot shopping center.

Dustin is a 2005 graduate of Madera High School, and starting a restaurant had always been a dream of his after completing his military service.

“Their goal is to serve award-winning beer, specialty wine and hand-crafted pizza in a warm casual setting,” according to a news release from the Madera County Economic Development Commission. “The Tap House wants their patrons to feel like family when dining at their establishment.”

The new restaurant will feature 15 tap handles of craft beer from brewers including Drake’s Brewing Co., BarrelHouse, Sierra Nevada, Dust Bowl and Firestone, as well as local wines from Toca and San Joaquin Wine Co., according to the news release.

The menu will also include an assortment of hand-crafted, wood fired pizzas.

The business, which has a tentative opening date of Sept. 1, will have hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Thursday, with the closing time extended to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday hours of 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. It will be closed on Tuesdays.

To be considered for a possible position at The Tap House, email resumes to thetaphousellc@gmail.com.
