Clovis will soon have more choices for groceries with the grand opening of an Aldi supermarket on Oct. 10.

Aldi is a German discount supermarket company with more than10,000 stores in 20 countries. The opening of the Clovis store will make it the third in the Central Valley behind Hanford and Porterville.

Aldi has a $3.4 billion investment to expand to 2,500 stores and create 25,000 new jobs nationwide by the end of 2022.

The Clovis location will be the 66th Aldi store in California.

To celebrate the opening of the new location, Aldi will be holding a contest to win free produce for a year, offer free Aldi tote bags and samples of featured products, and the first 100 customers will have a chance to win a golden ticket worth up to $100.

The Aldi store in Clovis will be located on 1725 Herndon Ave. and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
