The Central Valley’s newest Boot Barn retail location recently opened in Selma.

Located in the Walmart-anchored Garden Vineyard Plaza, Boot Barn is  a Western-themed clothing store with existing locations in Fresno, Clovis and Tulare.

The retailer has more than 200 stores in 29 states.

The Selma Enterprise reported that Rod Burgenger, Boot Barn district manager, attended a ribbon cutting last month along with Selma elected officials and business leaders.

“The support the store’s been given already gives me chills. We set the store up in four days. From day one, we had people pulling on the doors to come in. The support’s been phenomenal,” Burgenger said, according to the Selma Enterprise. “We look forward to being a great community partner and building some great bonds.”

Founded in 1978, Boot Barn bills itself as the largest and fastest-growing lifestyle retail chain devoted to Western and work-related footwear, apparel and accessories. It is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BOOT.
