Ashley Webster, associate publisher of The Business Journal, is among two other community leaders receiving a special award from the Girl Scouts of Central California South this evening.

Davena Witcher, executive director of the Alliance for Medical Outreach and Relief and Eimear O’Farrell, Clovis Unified School District superintendent, will also be given the Women Inspiring Girls Society Award at a dinner tonight from 6-9 p.m. at Fort Washington Country Club.

The award is meant for trailblazing women who exemplify Girl Scouts’ values including innovation, leadership and risk-taking.

“Girl Scouts of Central California South Women Inspiring Girls awards honors dynamic women who have distinguished themselves through exemplary achievements in their community, in their professions, and as role models for girls,” according to the event website.

Webster, a 10-year employee of The Business Journal, was recently promoted to associate publisher of the fifth-generation family business founded in 1886. Her favorite philanthropic causes include the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and PINC (Philanthropy Inspired by the Needs of our Community).
