Doesn’t a nice, peaceful breather sound good right about now?

A new symposium coming to Yosemite’s Tenaya Lodge has you covered.

The Yosemite Peace Symposium is billed as “a gathering of peacemakers,” and is geared toward educators, corporate sustainability staff, activists and more. It takes place Oct. 26-27.

Breakout sessions will be divided into three tracks: Peace and the Environment, Peace and Our Youth, and Peace and Human Dignity. Sessions include presentations on human trafficking and “Disability is Diversity.” A listing of all seasons is available at yosemitepeace.com.

“We want to create an event that helps you implement a plan for peace in your own community,” said Susan Madden, Yosemite Peace Symposium planning committee chair. “So we are including an interactive, facilitated planning session we call ‘Peacemaking, Mission: Possible!’”

Scheduled speakers include educator Brynn Saito, Lt. Daniel Floss with the Madera Police Department, Ooooby Operations Manager Eric De Jong, farmer Hansel Kern and Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno Executive Director Reza Nekumanesh.
