ALDI continues to dip its toe into the Central Valley with the opening early next month of its latest store.

A location in the Kern County town of Delano is hosting a grand opening Sept. 5 with the usual slate of events, includes gift card giveaways, a produce-for-a-year sweepstakes and sampling of ALDI exclusive brand products. The store is at 490 Woollomes Ave. The event begins at 8:30 a.m.

ALDI is among the most hotly anticipated chains that are starting to show some love for the Central Valley. Stores in Hanford and Porterville opened earlier this year, and a location in Clovis in a former Fresh & Easy location is in the works.

Based in Germany, ALDI is in the midst of $3.4 billion investment to expand to 2,500 stores and create 25,000 news jobs nationwide by the end of 2022.

It currently has around 1,900 stores.
