The Bass Lake business community will host an open house and community-wide celebration on Saturday.

The event, which will feature live music, lake cruises, a poker run and shopping specials at area stores, will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In promoting the event, community leaders report that this is the first time the lake has been full for years.

Rhonda Salisbury, CEO of Visit Yosemite Madera County, said Bass Lake Chamber members “have gotten together to have an ‘open house’ around the lake. Visit Yosemite Madera County is thrilled to support this great event and celebration,” Salisbury added. “In particular since the water is back, which hasn’t been the case for years, this is good reason to come and celebrate with us.”

Bass Lake is located less than an hour’s drive north of Fresno and only 20 minutes from Yosemite’s southern entrance.

Known for its blue water and scenic views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada and Sierra National Forest, Bass Lake offers abundant recreational opportunities on and off the water, as well as all types of lodging, restaurants and shopping, all located close to the water’s edge.
