The Central Valley chapter of The American Heart Association is going “red” with a new partner to shine a light on February as Heart Awareness Month.

Community Medical Centers has signed on as a major supporter of the Go Red For Women movement to help bolster awareness of cardiovascular health for women.

“One in three women will die of heart disease or stroke,” said Dr. Teresa Daniele, Community Regional Medical Center’s Medical Director for Women’s Cardiovascular Services, in a statement. “We need to change this statistic and in order to do that, we need to focus on raising awareness in our own communities. We’re committed to helping Central Valley women understand the greatest threats to their health and are proud to align with the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement to help achieve the goal of wiping out cardiovascular diseases.”

The local awareness effort culminates March 4 with the Central Go Red Luncheon at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District. For more information visit the website.
