If you’ve ever wanted to add an extra bedroom to your home, Fresno might not be the most affordable place to make it happen, according to a new study.

The price to upgrade from two bedrooms to three is $99,585 in Fresno, placing it at No. 11 of a list of top 100 U.S. metros for the cost of such an addition, according to RealtyHop, a residential real estate website.

The most expensive place to go from two to three beds is in the Silicon Valley area, with a cost of $269,050. Four other California areas –Oxnard, San Francisco, San Diego and Stockton –round out the top 5.

Bakersfield appears at No. 12 on the list, for a cost of $94,900.

The most affordable place is Las Vegas, at a cost of $80,000.

The report looks at the median sales price in the top 100 metro areas by population.

The median price for a single-bedroom home in the U.S. is $148,210, up to $460,507 for a five-bedroom home.
