Regisered nurse education programs in the Central Valley will receive a combined $714,000 in funding from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s Song-Brown Program.


In total, 17 nurse education programs across the state will receive a total of nearly $2.8 million in funding from the program dedicated to providing financial support to the state’s health care professions workforce programs. It is targeted in Central Valley areas where citizens are underserved.

The following local programs in Central Valley will receive funds:

• Fresno State, $249,000

• College of the Sequoias (Visalia), $20,000

• Fresno City College, $120,000

• West Hills College (Lemoore), $325,000
