Yosemite South/Coarsegold KOAThree Valley KOA Campgrounds will offer a free night of camping on May 12 as part of the company's annual event to raise funds for its KOA Care Camps catering to children with cancer.
The Come Kamp & Care With Us weekend, going on at nearly 400 KOA campgrounds in North America, will allow KOA campers to stay free on May 12 when they stay as paying guests on May 11.
The weekend will feature several fun events campers can buy into in order to support the KOA Care Camps, a system of 44 specialized summer camps that provide a true summer camp experience for children with cancer and their siblings.
Participating KOA campgrounds in the San Joaquin Valley include:
• Yosemite South/Coarsegold KOA at 34094 Highway 41 in Coarsegold
• Fresno East/Kings Canyon Gateway KOA at 17604 E. Kings Canyon Road in Sanger
• Visalia/Sequoia National Park KOA at 7480 Avenue 308 in Visalia
The Come Kamp & Care With Us event was created in 2004.
Last year, more than 25,000 camping families helped raise $370,000 as part of the weekend.
Campers can go to www.koa.com to see a list of participating campgrounds and make their reservations.
As well, KOA is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2012 and letting campers in on a chance to win a free Keystone Vantage recreational vehicle. Campers can go to www.koakompass.com to enter that drawing.
