The Business Journal wins first-place award for writing.The Business Journal has earned a first-place award in the 2011 Better Newspapers Contest hosted by the California Newspaper Publishers Association (CNPA).

The article "10 years later: Business community remembers 9/11 attacks," published Sept. 9, 2011, won first place in the writing category for weekly publications. It was written by Managing Editor Gabriel Dillard and reporters Ben Keller, Clay Moffitt and Michael Kincheloe.

The awards were announced Saturday during the CNPA Press Summit in San Jose.

The Business Journal was also an award finalist in the categories of Best Page Layout & Design, Best Website and Best House Ad/Advertising Campaign.
