Zacky filed papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Sacramento, listing as much as between $50 million and $100 million in debts. Fresno-based poultry producer Zacky Farms has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors due to heavy debt and increasing feed costs.

Silgan Containers will close its Kingsburg plant at the end of October.Silgan Containers will close its can manufacturing operation in Kingsburg as Del Monte winds down its fruit processing plant there. City Manager Don Pauley confirmed the closure, resulting in the loss of 53 jobs at Silgan by the end of October.
