Children’s Hospital said in a release that patient families and hospital staff will gather at the rear of the hospital near the playground to view the flyover, which will be conducted by Strike Fighter Squadron 192, known as “The Golden Dragons.”

“Children’s Hospital has provided incredible care for our kids across the Valley and countless Navy families over the past 60 years,” said Cmdr. Ryan Bernacchi, executive officer of the squadron. “This flyover is a small way of saying thank you and showing our support and gratitude for the skilled and compassionate team at Children’s.”

Inspired by the treatment his young daughter received at Children’s, Cmdr. Bernacchi brought about a dozen members of his squadron to visit the hospital’s inpatient unit in May. The squadron will host five outpatients from Children’s along with their families in a tour of the Lemoore base June 28.

The flyover will take place at 2 p.m. Hospital staff and families will assemble at the back lawn at Children’s Hospital Central California, 9300 Valley Children’s Place in Madera.
