Federal team visits Fresno to discuss initiative

Representatives from several federal agencies will be in Fresno to assess the progress of Strong Cities, Strong Communities.Representatives from several federal agencies will be in Fresno this week to meet with Mayor Swearengin and to assess the progress of the Strong Cities, Strong Communities initiative and review objectives for the next six months, the City of Fresno said in a release.
The federal agencies that will be represented during the visit will be the Environmental Protection Agency; the departments of Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education; the Small Business Administration; and the Economic Development Administration.
The federal team will be meeting with City of Fresno officials on issues such as downtown and neighborhood revitalization, high-speed rail, bus rapid transit and homelessness.
