The California Central Valley Economic Development Corp., the regional organization charged with attracting business and investment to the area, has named Fresno Economic Development Corp. President Lee Ann Eager as its new chairperson, replacing outgoing chair John Lehn, who is head of the Kings County EDC.
Eager has been active on the California Central Valley Economic Development Corp. board for the past few years, attending legislative and broker missions.
The corporation also appointed Bill Bassit, Stanislaus Alliance director, as vice chair and Bobby Kahn, Madera County EDC executive director, as secretary-treasurer. The full board is comprised of directors of regional economic development organizations in Kern, Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties.
Eager is already looking forward to outreach efforts this year including broker missions to Southern California, Houston, the Bay Area and Atlanta; participation in trade shows, including WestPack trade show in Anaheim; outreach to the food processing industry, attendance and outreach at all the Northern California Society of Industrial and Office Realtors; and annual legislative missions to Sacramento.
