Ag contest calls for innovative farm products

The most innovative agriculture products will be on the radar during the World Ag Expo in Tulare next February when judges select the 10 best to highlight the event.

The World Ag Expo will be accepting entries until Aug. 19 from companies and inventors with ideas to make farming and ranching easier and more efficient.

But only the top 10 selected by a panel of agriculturalist judges will be showcased at the New Products Center during the event, to be held Feb. 14-16, 2012 at Tulare's International Agri-Center.

From out of the 10 finalists, one winner will have the chance to win the Attendees' Choice Award as chosen by attendees of the World Ag Expo and online voters. In 2011, the Attendees' Choice Award went to Flag-R-Mon Flag Products of Atwater for a water-activated flag that alerts farmers of saturation levels during irrigation.

The contest is designed to bring exposure for new ag products and springboard them into successful markets.

Entry applications for the Top 10 contest can be downloaded at worldagexpo.com. All entries must come from exhibiting companies who are in good standing.

More than 1,600 exhibitors are expected to display the latest in farm equipment and technology on 2.5 million square feet of exhibit space during the World Ag Expo. Boasted as the largest ag event in the world, the expo draws more than 100,000 visitors to Tulare every year.
