Fresno-based The Great American Barbershop will be showcased at the International Council of Shopping Center Convention in Las Vegas May 20-23.

“The beauty of this business is you can partner with us without ever picking up a pair of clippers. People love us because of the experience we provide, it’s the ultimate barbering experience,” said Tye Featherstone, owner of The Great American Barbershop. “Las Vegas will not only allow us to reach potential franchisors but spread the proper barbering experience that originated here in Fresno.”

The store will be featured along with 10 other franchises to showcase their business models to other business owners across the world, according to a press release.

Featherstone opened his first shop in Fresno in 2014 before opening his two other corporate stores in Fresno and Clovis. When Featherstone and COO Martin Stein began franchising the business, three were sold in the first week. Now, there are seven stores sold to be built throughout Fresno County and San Luis Obispo, according to Marilyn Cowley at POSH PR, Marketing & Events.

The Great American Barbershop maintains a garage theme, with tool boxes and motorcycles where customers can get “the Proper,” a precision haircut that includes eyebrow and ear hair trim with a shave, lather and massage.

“The rock and roll music is free,” said Featherstone. “The beard trim is included and everyone leaves handsome.”

By June, the company will open franchising opportunities in every state.
